In this series, the model is throwing chalk powder either at her face or on her head. A fast shutter speed was used to freeze the powder on impact with the model. The chalk is bright and vibrant and contrasts with the background, and each image has either a split tone or shadow tone in a color that compliments the color of the powder. The model is essentially torturing herself by throwing this unpleasant substance in her face, and it represents the stress of everyday life. People are constantly pelting themselves with problems and things to do and stress in everyday life. School, work, family, friends, etc all come into one big explosion that eventually ruptures right in your face.
